Reason #410 Why The ’80’s Didn’t Suck: More Specials
The only real Specials album released in the ’80’s (so no fantastic debut, then; that was 1979), and a real underrated corker it is, too! The first album may have been more groundbreaking, but this second album, I would argue, was way more influential. It contains elements of space lounge decades before it became fashionable (International Jet Set), Mexican chill-out (Holiday Fortnight) and the absolutely stunning Stereotypes/Stereotypes Part 2. 12 songs, a little over 45 minutes in length and not one second wasted. Ska elevated to another level.
