Reason #422 Why The ’80’s Didn’t Suck: Double Fantasy

lennonThis one is a special one for me as it is one of the 3 albums I ever bought with my own money when I was 12 years old. I remember it like it was yesterday. I purchased this, Back In Black by AC/DC and the Rolling Stones Tattoo You on the same day. I also bought some Iron Man comic books, but that’s a post for another blog. This to me is both a very sad and a very joyous album. Lennon was in good spirits when he was recording the songs for this efforts and feeling reinvigorated. Songs like Just Like Starting Over, Woman and Watching the Wheels reflect this. That’s the joyous part. The sad part is, of course, he got shot and died and that tragedy will forever be associated with this album and its songs.
