Reason #435 Why The ’80’s Didn’t Suck: Lincoln
My favorite They Might Be Giants albums came out in the ’90’s: Flood and Apollo 18. But Lincoln, which was released in 1988 definitely has it’s charms. 18 goofy greats from a band that would outlast virtually everyone of their peers (Dead Milkmen, anyone?) and surpass them all by diversifying their talents in the late ’90’s and ’00’s (children’s music–intelligent children’s music–for one). My God who would have thunk it, these guys are almost respectable now! Not as weird as the debut, but still strange, songs like Ana Ng, Santa’s Beard and Snowball In Hell are all top notch TMBG numbers.
