Reason #455 Why The ’80’s Didn’t Suck: Computer World

Alas, the last really great Kraftwerk album. I wish I could delve into their ’70’s disks, but I cannot, this being an ’80’s blog and all. But at least we have this fantastic album to talk about.  It may not be as consistently great as TEE, or even Man Machine, but it probably is their most influential album in terms of synth pop, with songs such as the title track and Pocket Calculator. Also, more than any other Kraftwerk album, this one displays the most heart, even though that heart may or may not be mechanical. Without this album, and the one’s before, there would be no Depeche Mode, OMD, and a billion other bands. Also, no blogs like this one.
