Reason #481 Why The ’80’s Didn’t Suck: Kings Of The WIld Frontier

One of 2 Adam and the Ants albums you need to own. Dressing up as a pirate/dandy, implementing Burundi-style drumming into the mix in addition to spaghetti western guitar motifs and singing songs about ants invading the earth wouldn’t be my idea of how to win friends and influence people. That’s the wonderful thing about music in the early ’80’s, though, that anything goes mentality.

Adam took glam elements in addition to the above influences, in addition to his own massive charisma, and turned the British music industry on it’s head with this album. And while this is his 2nd album it really feels like his first, and he never bettered the sound, the hype or the collection of top tunes on Kings Of The Wild frontier.
