Thank you Canada! Although it took a few days the number of unique visitors to this little site, dedicated to the great music of the 1980’s, has skyrocketed and folks North of the border represent 70% of the total, with the good old US of A in second with 14%, Great Britain at about 9% and the rest from all over the place. This must mean that all the snow & sleet, milk that comes in bags, hockey and donuts and premium beer has somehow rendered you superior when it comes to identifying great tunes.
Just so the rest of the world knows there were some pretty terrific bands to come out of the Great White North during the ‘80’s, and they aren’t called Loverboy. Blue Peter, The Spoons, Rush, Men Without Hats, The Forgotten Rebels, Teenage Head, SNFU, Nomeansno, DOA, The Payolas, The Kings, Images In Vogue, Skinny Puppy, Martha and the Muffins, Nash the Slash, The Grapes Of Wrath and even Bruce Cockburn (If I Had A Rocket Launcher is one fantastic tune!) and Bob and Doug McKenzie will all serve their time here on the site in future posts.
So, thanks, eh?
